A Place to Belong

"A Place to Belong" is an original acrylic painting on gallery wrapped canvas, in a custom painted frame from the Canadian company Rustic Burl Co. 

Although some paintings are just fun and creative, silly even - this painting was an expression of some thoughts I consistently have as a person, just existing. But also, as a creative mind. I think it is important to share my reflection upon creating this piece.

A place to belong is what we all are really craving, right? A place where we feel at peace; comfortable to be ourselves. As people, and as creatives, we can feel like we are an other sometimes - a person that thinks differently than our family or friends around us. This painting is an expression for me of the peaceful easy feeling that nature brings. Nature just wraps you in a hug and says - you belong here! I am always encouraged by the refreshing perspective that being outside brings - and feel fortunate everyday to live in this magical province here in Canada. The mountains would never feel like they don't belong - they just exist in all their glory.
