Keyboard Spaceship

"Keyboard Spaceship" is an original acrylic painting on gallery wrapped canvas.

This painting is part of my 2026 collection: "Sometimes Sunny - The Colours of Hope" and is currently hanging in an exhibition at the Northern Jubilee Auditorium until December 2026. This series has both the places that I find provide hope in my life, and the instruments that I spend my life playing! (Or attempting to play, like the organ!). 

If you have ever played a keyboard that looks like this, with two stacked on top of each other with other gear stacked on top of it - you will identify with the sentiment that you are, in fact, flying a spaceship. There are so many possibilities, so many buttons to push and to program. It is an entirely different skill that many pianists (myself included) cannot even touch the surface of. I love that the complexity of historical keyboard instruments like the organ and harpsichord still lives on in the modern day "spaceship keyboards". There's even two manuals like the organ! Wow! What a joy.
