Happier Times Ahead

"Happier Times Ahead" is an original acrylic painting on gallery wrapped canvas with a custom floating frame from the Rustic Burl Co. 

This painting was painted from a reference photo that was taken back in 2023, which although it really wasn't that long ago feels both like a million years have passed, and none at all! The Ice Fields Parkway is known as one of the most beautiful stretches of road in existence. People travel from all over the globe to visit, and for us who live here in Alberta - we are so close! There is something that draws me in to a composition with a road at the centre. There seems to be endless possibilities and yet shadows cover the road. I worked and worked and worked on those shadows! lol but I do think that I wanted to focus on the fact that light still comes through onto the road, even though the road is lined with trees, and you might not know what is living in those woods!

My hope is that Happier Times Ahead can be a reminder in your home of hope - hope of adventures not yet taken, hope of summer days when its 30 below and hope of respite if you are going through a hard time.
